Experienced crane operators, crane operator trainers, or those with crane-related experience may apply to become CIC Practical Examiners. Practical Examiner may conduct exams at any authorized Practical Exam site, and are responsible for conducting them according to CIC requirements.
You should apply to become a Practical Examiner at least six weeks prior to the first exam you plan to give. Examiners are authorized to administer Practical Exams for five years, as long as you conduct a minimum of three Practical Exams each year. Recertification as a Practical Examiner involves passing the corresponding Written Exams.
- Minimum four years relevant experience on the crane type(s) you will be examining. (This could include operation and/or training experience.)
- Successfully complete the Practical Examiner training session and test.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the crane type(s) you will be examining by passing relevant CIC Crane Operator Written Exam(s) or earning CIC Certification.
